The sons of Ma'afu story recount

The start of the story started like any other stories.

There was a chief named Ma’afu and he had two sons that were very naughty, the two sons were named were Ma’futoka and Ma’fulele.

The two sons were always getting into trouble because they threw their spears around without being careful with other people.

One time it landed right next to a person, the other time it landed on a man’s leg and broke it, the people were truly angry but the chief loved his two sons and he would always make excuses when his sons get into trouble.

The boys thought that they would use their father as a target but when the people saw what they were up to, the villagers immediately shouted “HEY WHAT ARE YOU BOYS DOING?!”, “Why are you throwing spears at your father?”, “You have no respect”, the boys replied: “we weren’t trying to hit him we were trying to get the spear as close as possible”, “But what if you actually hit him, then we won’t have a chief”, the Villagers shouted, the boys didn’t really think of that, they wanted to apologise so they told the whole village they would do anything to say sorry.

The people told the chief that they will have to go fetch water from Atavahea, the chief was worried about his sons because he knew that a big duck lived there, but a good chief listens to his people.

When the boys got to the waterhole they were terrified but they did as they were told, as they were about to go the big duck attacked out of nowhere, the boys fought with all their might until they defeated the big duck. The two boys went home thinking they would feed the whole village but when they returned the villagers were not happy, the villagers started to shout “why are they happy”, “they are not even sorry, send them to Muihatafa to fetch some water at the bottom of the pool, the chief was even more terrified but he agreed.

When the boys got the waterhole they were terrified but they knew that they had to do it, as soon as they swam at the bottom of the pool a massive triggerfish appeared and started to attack, the boys worked together, Ma’afutoka put his hands on the fish’s gills and that’s how they stopped the massive triggerfish, the boys were glad they weren’t hurt but when they returned the villagers got scared and shouted “they killed both of the most dangerous creatures in our island”, “we are not safe with them anymore”, the villagers were terrified so the chief sent his sons to live somewhere far away.

The two sons were seen in the night because they went to live in the stars, where they saw their father and the villagers.
