“Hi, do you remember what you did on the holidays or on the weekends, well if you do or do not remember. You will surely remember your recount after I tell my recount”.
It all started on Saturday 21st of September, my mom woke me and my sister up unexpectedly, she told us to get ready and eat breakfast.
After eating breakfast and changing we got to the car and dad drove to Dressmart. My family and I went to Kids Cotton On and my mom picked out some really cool clothes, (“okay, pause so you might be wondering what was happening?, well we were picking out new clothes for the school holidays because we are going to the Philippines my country to visit my cousin, my dad’s dad, my abuelo (grandfather), my dad’s mom my abuela (grandmother) and my mom’s mom my other abuela (grandmother), so yeah”).
I really liked the tiger skirt and the red and blue top, when we finished shopping we went to West field to get my mom some clothes, we picked three tops and three pants, it looked really good on her.
It was night time and we were driving home.
When we got home we ate and went to the lounge to try out the new clothes.
It was such a fun day and a little exhausting but mostly fun because my family and I got to spend lots of time together.
I am a Year 7 learner at Glenbrae Primary School in Auckland, New Zealand. I am in Room 10. My teacher is Mr Nath.

Ane's Story
Ane is an African. She came from South Africa. She lives with her mom and little sister. Her mom works hard because her mom wanted her to have a better education in New Zealand.
Ane said there was lots of violence in South Africa and most of her family were there so she didn't want to leave.
When Ane moved to New Zealand she knew nothing about the country. She struggled to pronounce words but in her school, she met a girl that helped her with her learning and English. Her favorite thing about New Zealand is school.

Catch It Story Recount
On a hot Sahara day a group of meerkats were sleeping inside a very comfy tunnel. They were sleeping on top of each other.
“Yawns”, “thud”.
Ralphy fell asleep while waking up. Ralphy looked out of the tunnel and he saw two of his friends. The meerkats walked to a tree that had one fruit on it then they all climbed it, they touched the fruit one by one and slid down a branch to get down. The meerkats were staring at the fruit then they moved their body to side to side. “Swosh!” a big vulture came flying in, he landed on a branch and all the meerkats were hiding.
All the meerkats hid inside their tunnels underground, the big vulture was looking around. Then he laughed, he saw the fruit, he carefully shifted to get the fruit and “Snatch!” he flew low on the ground with the fruit. The meerkats were shocked, they started to chase the vulture down with speed, as the vulture looked behind him he saw all the meerkats chasing him. Ralphy jumped to grab the vultures leg then the meerkats grabbed onto each others leg. As the vulture flew up, the meerkats grabbed on tighter then suddenly they all fell with the fruit, but they didn’t hit the floor just yet! They worked together and tried to get the fruit as far as they possible. “Wosh”, the fruit came gliding down. The meerkats went on the vulture’s back and manage to get the fruit back. But when the meerkats jumped to a tree then to the sand the vulture hit the wall so hard that it cracked.
The meerkats started passing the fruit around like rugby, when they saw two trees together they kicked the fruit over and cheered but the fruit broke. They were so shocked and probably disappointed.

Spring Narrative
As I'm walking, I can smell the fresh spring air flying through my nose. I walk down a path full of colourful flowers and there, I saw a beautiful blossom tree. As the days go by the grass gets greener and greener.
Insects come out of their homes annoying people with their pesky noise.
Pollinators such as bees and butterflies come out more active in spring, they make honey for us all.
Baby animals are mostly born in spring because it is hot and there are more places to hide the babies from predators.
In spring lots of rainbows appear and days are longer which means I can spend more time with my family.
Spring is a relaxing season and exciting.
In that flowery season there are lots of things to play with outside. As my siblings and I go back home looking at the sunset and riding our bikes we thought of all the fun we had today in the park.

Acrostic Poem
Sun shines above blooming flowers.
Pollinators such as bees and butterflies come out more active in spring.
Rest and watch as the flowers bloom beautifully. Watch them bloom as the days past.
Insects come out of their homes annoying people with their pesky noise.
Now that it is spring the sun begins to shine, hotter and hotter it gets now it is time to sweat.
Green grass shifts from side to side as the wind calmly pushes it.
